Function of the Historic Palace

Every palace has the specific function. At the past, Istana Lama Seri Menanti has a lot of function in term of administration centre, education centre and the visiting of the royal people.

1)    Administration Centre

During the rule of Yamtuan Antah, there are several section that shows the administrative process done in the palace.

-      Audience hall / reception hall

This section is the place of the kingdom throne. At this section have 7 stairs. The first stair is seated by Dato’ Seri Amar Diraja, in front of him is Dato’ Raja DiWangsa. The second stair is seated by Dato’s Dagang and in front of him is Dato’ Akhir. The third until the last stair is seated by Penghulu Luak Officer.

BALAIRUNG SERI ( ADMINISTRATIVE HALL )

-      Raja Muda Hall

At this section, the ceremony was held. The wife and the young king watched the ceremony ritual. During this ceremony, the guests and the royal family were also attending this ceremony at the palace.

2)   Education Centre

-      Islamic Religious Council Negeri Sembilan has been used this palace as the Sekolah Menengah Agama Tinggi on 1959 until 1964.

3)   Visiting of the royal people

-      Istana Lama Seri Menanti have been used as the visiting ceremony that done once during 3 years.

On 1926, High Officer, Sir Lawrence Gullmard attended the ceremony
